A nice addition would be to have a ‘status’ file stored in flash so if the power goes off, when it comes back on, the sketch reads the status and the lamps are automatically restored to their last setting ie on or off.

Searching for a resolution only produces advise to revert back to 3.0.7 ESP32 core, which has not worked for me. Have you experienced this crash and hopefully found a resolution? It seems it is in AsyncTCP, but I haven’t been able to pinpoint it because the exception decoders are unusable on my M2 mac.

CORRUPT HEAP: Bad tail at 0x3ffd82dc. Expected 0xbaad5678 got 0x3ffd81d4

I’m using a 2nd gen in the lab where the ESP-WROOM-32 is located.

I’m using mostly 2nd gen Dots around the house, but for sure a 2nd gen in the lab where the ESP-WROOM-32 is located.

Alexa doesn’t discover any device(s). I took one commentor’s advice and tried to add the Wemo skill. There is no Wemo skill in the Alexa smart home list. What gives, is the Belkin Wemo app outdated? Is the fauxmoESP outdated? Is there some way to check if the fauxmoESP is actually connected to the local net?

How many devices can FAUXMO ESP add/handle? I see in the fauxmoESP.cpp file a total of 4 devices, but no remarks in the comments or in the Readme file about any limit. I’d like to be able to handle at least 16, maybe 24. If necessary, I could have 6 ESP32s on the network.

Hi Bernard,
just tried today and it works for me. I doesn’t do exactly what I want it to do but the code works and the device is recognized
